Why only dream of your dream job? Your dream can come true. You just can't put your hands in your lap.
We spend so much of our life at work, which is why it is not a bad idea to seek and achieve your personal dream job. And if you do it right, you will do it too. A dream job is simply the job that we don't struggle to get out of bed for in the morning, but that we enjoy. Who compliments us, fulfills us and still interests us after work. For which we also like to invest more than just the usual. Simply because we are passionate about it. Sounds utopian? Absolutely not!
What's stopping you from taking your dream job? If you're honest: most likely yourself. If you keep these 7 things in mind, it should work out the perfect job.
1. Don't bend & think big!
Don't study law just because your parents would like it, if you feel more called to design yourself. And don't look at what others are doing, but concentrate on yourself and your strengths. What is your talent? And if you are looking for a job, look for yourself and don't let yourself be found. If you only look for vacancies instead of thinking for yourself which company you would like to work for, you will never get your dream job. Think big!
2. Put your heart and soul into the matter
"You can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets."That's true not only in terms of success, but also in terms of achieving your dream job. Only those who are wholeheartedly involved will convince here. But the nice thing is: As far as your dream job is concerned, it is easy for you to be passionate about it.
3. Does your job reflect your values?
Often times, people confuse success and fulfillment. It's definitely not the same. Sometimes you are on the way up steeply in terms of your career and then you realize that a different path actually feels a lot more right. Even if that means that you have to start all over again or limit yourself - this is about making your dream come true. So go for it!
4th. Create a network
You don't always have to fight alone. Especially at work, it makes sense to network and make a good circle of contacts. Sometimes such a network is even more helpful than your résumé. Xing, Linkedin but also Facebook: Use these social networks.
5. Be brave
Why not dare to do something? It's about nothing more and nothing less than what you will spend most of your time with in the future. That is why your dream job is surely more than worth taking risks, showing perseverance and accepting one or two setbacks. Fall down, stand up, straighten the crown! If everything is always easy and predictable, you never get to test your limits, learn and develop yourself.
6th. Know your strengths - and show them
Your current or future boss will not always know what you are doing. And therefore not what you can do either. You have to do a bit of publicity yourself. Tell about your projects, your successes and your ideas. Get in touch for special tasks that interest you. This is the only way to become aware of you.
