Sticking on bathroom tiles: This is how it works

Tile stickers are a godsend: every old and unsightly tile mirror can be transformed into a breathtaking tiled wall in no time at all - and it is even easier and cheaper. Read more here.

Tile stickers as a solution to many problems

Not only if a boring tile mirror is missing the decoration, or if individual damaged tiles need to be repaired quickly and easily: Tile stickers can also be used to completely redesign an old tile wall with little cost and time.

The pasting itself is actually quite simple - and requires little skill. In most cases, the costs for this are around 15-20 euros per square meter.

Of course, you can also cut your stickers to size from a suitable film - this is usually much cheaper.

It is important, however, that you clean the tiles thoroughly before gluing them - and degrease them if possible. It is best to use nitro thinner for this.

Also pay attention to the design of the joints

If you are redesigning a tiled wall with tile stickers, you should make sure that the color of the grout still matches. Otherwise, you must first paint over the joints in a suitable color.

This is actually not a big task - but it can be tricky to choose a really suitable joint color. The same tiles sometimes look completely different with different grout colors.

A tip can be to try arranging the tile stickers on paper of the right color to test the visual effect. This is still an approximation method, but a reasonably meaningful one.

Tips & Tricks You can also create impressive motif walls with plastic sheeting, which you pull over the entire tiled area including the joints. Even simple motifs look so lively and interesting due to the tile structure behind them - and you have a highly individual tiled wall.
