It is important to remember that many insulation materials consist of small cavities, inside of which moisture can settle. The insulation layer must therefore be impervious to water vapor in order to prevent damage from moisture. This can be achieved, for example, by a vapor barrier in the form of a film, which reliably prevents the penetration of water vapor.
