Weight at limestone

Lime sandstone unfortunately has a slightly different weight depending on the manufacturer. This is often due to the light bandwidth in the raw density of the lime sandstone. Another factor for the weight is the moisture contained in the stone. This should not be more than five percent in the indication. Here we show you the weight of the lime sandstones.

Raw-density class determines the weight

The sizes of the lime sandstone are standardized and therefore always the same. But the raw density can be different. The raw density classes of the lime sandstone range from 1200 kilos to 2200 kilo per cubic meter of limestone. Depending on the RDK, ie the raw density class, the purpose of the stone is specified. For example, at a low RDK, the stone is used, for example, only as a non-wearing inner wall.

Print resistance class

In order to confuse the whole concept of important data a little more, there is also a compressive resistance class that indicates which weight can carry the wall later. Especially with carrying walls and outside walls, this value is crucial. Also important is the strength of the wall for the compressive strength.

Weight of lime sandstone

When specifying the weight, the stone should not have more than 5 percent moisture, otherwise the result will be falsified. This is often a problem when transporting large quantities of sand-lime brick, as the trucks can then be overloaded. On the basis of the amount of stones and the corresponding weight, however, the load weight can usually be determined quite well.

Tips & Tricks Let yourself be advised by a structural engineer or architect when you want to build a wearing wall with limestone. The wall thickness and the raw density play important roles together with the pressure resistance. This is absolutely not to overlook for a layman.
