Apply renovation fleece for wallpapering

Renovation fleece has advantageous properties to make wallpapering easier and to achieve a better result. The dimensional stability and smoothing function help especially with difficult substrates and sensitive types of wallpaper. If photo wallpapers are put up, the chance of perfect joints of the webs is greater.

Renovation fleece compensates for damp, soft wallpaper properties

The renovation fleece itself is also attached to the wall, but we can speak less of wallpapering. The fastening method gets the character of gluing mainly from the one-sided application of glue on the wall or ceiling. The fleece is pressed on.

When wallpapering, many wallpapers, especially paper-based, have to be pasted and pulled briefly. In doing so, they become soft and swell a little. This quickly leads to warped edges when applied. Corrections by pushing or pulling are hardly possible on difficult surfaces. The membrane has to be pulled off again and reattached.

Prepare problematic substrates

If a wall is to be wallpapered, the absorbency, slight unevenness and a poorly adhesive texture can cause problems. Priming and filling can help, but they are relatively time-consuming.

Drywall panels can be given a wallpaper-friendly surface by gluing renovation fleece to plasterboard or other types of panels. The fleece can be easily applied with the appropriate adhesive without the need for preliminary work.

One-sided sticking on almost any clean and dust-free surface

When gluing renovation fleece, the adhesive is only applied to the substrate. The fleece is a frugal material that, if there is a sufficient amount of adhesive, adheres to almost any surface. The extremely high dimensional stability also leads to perfect joints. Wallpaper that has already been pasted can be easily corrected to a limited extent if it is tilted by pushing and pulling.

A renovation fleece is particularly recommended and helpful when wallpapering photo wallpapers. Representative motif wallpapers must have precisely coordinated heights and joints so that there are no offsets between the strips. Even small dents in the substrate can lead to disruptive misalignments. In the case of three-dimensional motifs, a renovation fleece should never be dispensed with as an aid.

Tips & Tricks If you intend to leave the renovation fleece permanently on drywall, for example, a fleece adhesive is recommended. You can use conventional wallpaper paste on masonry and in-wall plastering, which makes it easier to remove it later if necessary.
