You have decided to retrofit a hot water boiler? Also known as low-pressure boilers, such models can be connected without great effort and without professional help. You only have to pay attention to a few points so that e.g.B. the hot and cold water are not connected in the wrong way.
Preparations
Before you connect the boiler to the water connection, you must make the correct preparations. The position and size of the boiler are very important. The devices are in sizes from 50 to 1.000 l are available and must be selected according to the intended use. For example, if it is to be used exclusively for the sink in the kitchen, smaller devices are sufficient. If you want to fill your bathtub using the boiler instead, larger specimens are necessary.
You should also make sure that you have the necessary components for safe use of the boiler. You absolutely need the following parts so that, for example, water does not run back into the boiler or there is high pressure that permanently damages the device. The following parts should therefore be part of the water connection:
- Safety valve
- Shut-off valve
- Pressure gauge connection
- Backflow preventer
- Discharge funnel
If you are not sure whether these components are installed, have them checked by a professional.
Connecting the water heater: Instructions
1. Turn off the water supply
Make sure to turn off the water supply before connecting the boiler. This will prevent possible water damage, as otherwise a lot of water can leak out during installation.
2. Fasten the hoses
Next, you need to properly connect the hoses. Since it is a low pressure boiler, three hoses must be connected
:
- The cold water hose (blue) is connected to the tap
- Hot water hose (usually red or another color) is connected to the tap
- The water supply hose connects the angle valve with the tap
3. Check fit
Once the hoses have been connected, check that they are properly seated. You sol
should sit well and be tight.
4th. Place the boiler
Now you can place the boiler or screw it on. If it is a very large boiler, you should position it before connecting it.
5. Power supply
Last but not least, the boiler is connected to the socket. To do this, simply use the device's plug.
